Remembering Marilyn

I hope everyone is sending Marilyn special thoughts and prayers today.  48 years ago we lost her.  Luckily, because of all the wonderful fans in the world, her memory lives on.

Our Vegas Wedding Video

After some debate, I decided to post our wedding video.  Who knows, maybe we’ll become a youtube sensation  It is definitely not something you see everyday.  Thanks again, to my beautiful bridesmaid, Susan Griffiths and maid of honour, Suzie Kennedy for being part of our wedding.  You may also recognize the gentlemen sitting in the last row as we come down the aisle.  It is Kim Goodwin, known on my website as the amazing creator of customized Marilyn Monroe dolls.  His role that day was to do Susan’s makeup and rush her to the ceremony for me.  Thanks Kim!  Loved having you there.

Marilyn’s legendary final home is currently up for sale.  So if you have an extra $3,595,000 it can be yours.

Here is the official listing.  It is interesting to note that they didn’t even make mention of the fact it was Marilyn’s home.  Too bad one of these celebrities, with money to burn, who profess to love Marilyn wouldn’t purchase it and make a museum.

2010 Marilyn Memorial at Westwood

I wanted to pass along this information about this year’s memorial service:

The 2010 Marilyn Monroe Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 on Thursday, August 5 at Westwood Memorial Park. A reception following the memorial service is currently being arranged. Information on the reception will be announced soon.  Visit http://marilynrememberedclub.blogspot.com for updates.

Marilyn Monroe Memorial Fund

Please help keep the legend of Marilyn Monroe alive by contributing to the Marilyn Monroe Memorial Fund. The Marilyn Remembered Fan Club, the entity arranging the memorial service since 1982, is offering fans around the world the opportunity to become personally involved in the memorial service by becoming a sponsor of the 2010 event. Please note that 100% of donations will be used to fund memorial service and reception expenses. The Marilyn Remembered fan club is charged a facility usage fee of $500 to hold the service in the chapel at Westwood Memorial Park, the same chapel where Marilyn’s actual funeral services were held. Other expenses include memorial service program printing costs, flowers for the service and Marilyn’s crypt, chairs for additional seating if needed, refreshments for the reception following the memorial service, etc.

Everyone donating to the Marilyn Monroe Memorial Fund will be acknowledged in the memorial service program.

Sergio & Marilyn in New York

I wanted to share this video from Sergio. It features photos from his recent trip to New York. He has gone to all of the great Marilyn landmarks and included a reference photo of Marilyn in the same location. Brilliant!

Did you feel the quake?

I was at work in a meeting on the first floor so I didn’t feel today’s earthquake. However, people in the upstairs office said they felt it. How about you? Was anyone working in a tall building when it struck? Please post your experiences in the comments.

Our Vegas Wedding on Marilyn’s Birthday

Finally feel caught up on all the sleep I lost in Vegas.  It truly is a city that never sleeps.  I think they must pump oxygen into the rooms because whenever I went back to the room for a nap I was wide awake in 10 minutes.  It was the trip of a lifetime and everything went off without a hitch so I was thankful for that.  Still waiting for all the professional photos to come back in a few weeks.  In the meantime, here are a few shots.

Here we are before the ceremony walking through the casino.  It was so much fun.

Susan Griffiths was my beautiful bridesmaid. I am just so honoured that she would do this for me.  I can’t wait to get the pro photos from this shot.

We were married at Chapel of the Flowers.  It was a beautiful chapel and I highly recommend it.
